How to make a Delicious “plugin” for Chrome
When I migrated my browsing habits to Chrome a couple weeks back one of my big holdups was that Google Chrome didn’t have a Delicious plugin for quickly bookmarking links.
However, with just a tad of javascript you can correct this Chrome shortcoming.
Simply drag the following link to your Google Chrome Bookmarks bar:
Delicious Bookmark
Now, when you want to bookmark a page on Delicious, simply click the bookmark. Easy, huh?
Sadly, unlike Firefox’s plugin, this does nothing to integrate Del.icio.us bookmarks with Google Chrome’s bookmarks, but hopefully a fix for that is not far away.

You, sir, are a genius. Thanks!
Super! Thanks man! Now, where’s the delicious bookmark integration like the firefox plugin?
@Tony: No kidding! Chrome’s been out for ages now, and still no plugin integration. I’m losing faith.
This is way cooler than the delicious supplied bookmarklet. I came up with a semi-solution to get me access to my delicious bookmarks. It uses the keyword search to search my personal bookmark list. Not exactly what I was used to in FF, but it’ll get me by for now.

Oh, fantastic. You will my world famous “Hero of the Month” for December 2009! Thanks.
Help! I (accidently) added this several times, and can’t figure out how to delete the extra ‘Bookmark on Delicious” icon thingys from the bookmark list. What ever shall I do?
Thanks. (I’m a not a digital native, so patience please!)
to remove, try right-clicking on the shortcut and selecting ‘delete’.
And FYI there is an “official” extension for Chrome now which properly integrates delicious into the toolbar:

Thank you so much! Extension sucked & didn’t work. (Everything stopped after I pressed the “save” button.)
Chrome’s got a long way to go compared to Firefox, customization-wise.
This works! THANK YOU!!
